Hellraiser Extreme C-1 FR, rises to fuel the fires of METAL!

First, Thank you Sweetwater, for a wonderful guitar purchase experience and thanks to Aaron Rom. The best online music pro's period! I called Aaron, told him I was interested in adding an EMG equipped axe to my arsenal and asked what was the guitar buzz around the office. He pointed me in the direction of the Hellraiser and Loomis Schecters. Beautiful axes and the Hellraiser caught my eye.

I purchased my Hellraiser Extreme about a month ago, I wanted to break it in and put it through the ringer before I reviewed it. I dialed it into my gear, new strings, tuned down, 60-70 playing hours later, I cant put this guitar down. This axe is perfect. Schecter called this guitar their flagship, I call it the BATTLESHIP!!

The tonewoods have tone...Duhh. And lots of it!! Starts with a nice piece of Mahogany, maple top, 5 piece maple and walnut neck with neck thru body. Beautiful sunburst finish. The pictures don't do the finish justice. After the frets were broke in, this guitar has a fast, comfortable neck and the gothic cross inlays are sweet! A medium heavy guitar about 9 lbs hangs nicely and fit naturally once I got the it dialed in. Not to mention it looks damn good too.

EMG BLISS. These pickups are very impressive. I've never been one to believe in hype but now.... I BELIEVE. All the hype is true. A special mention goes to the neck pick-up with the pull knob to split the coils. Wow. Amazing tonal switch. After riding that 81 bridge pickup for a metal set, flip the selector, pull the knob, split the coils and I'm ripping some Trower / Stevie Ray chops that sound awesome. Not a Strat sound, it has it's own unique single coil sound.

A Floyd Rose that stays in tune!!! Absolutely. Not a cheap knock-off, the real deal. This FR 1000 is very sensitive and works perfectly. Skeptically, I put the FR 1000 to the test. I dived bombed o-plenty, enough that would make Eddie puke and to my amazement this puppy stayed in tune. A dive bomb Jedi master's best friend.

In conclusion. The Hellraiser Extreme C-1 FR, by Schecter is my new favorite axe. Beautiful tonewoods, fast comfortable playability while superbly equipped with top notch components. My secret weapon!
