10 faders control 10 intervals of pitch
10 intervals of pitch can be mixed by using 10 surface faders, which may then be played polyphonically with perfect tracking:
  • 1 octaves down
  • 2 octaves down
  • Original pitch
  • One Fifth up
  • 1 octave up
  • 1 octave + a perfect fifth
  • 2 octaves up
  • 2 octaves up + a major third

Six unique expression modes
Six unique expression modes are accessible via the Exp button, expression pedal, and MIDI. Octave bends, step bends, volume control, user defined Wah-Wah, Filter control, plus two unique freeze modes: With Freeze Gliss, an expression pedal freezes a chord while letting you play over it having your frozen notes gliss to meet your new notes. The Freeze Volume freezes a chord allowing you to control its volume, with an expression pedal, as you play on top of it.

Real-time manipulation
An external "whammy" pedal and a momentary surface mounted Exp button, allow for real-time access and manipulation of all of the above expression modes. A new level of performance interaction.

Dual envelope generators
Dual Envelope generators that work with both the higher and lower frequency ranges. Allows unique contours of attack and release in two different harmonic regions. 12dB per octave 2-pole low pass filter and resonance controls manipulate the tone while also being a critical element within the expression modes.

Sweetwater Expert Advice

"When I first saw a video review of the HOG, I knew I had to have one. Although there are many ways to use it, I love freezing a tone with a long attack at the beginning of an arpeggiation, and creating the sound of an organ fading in behind the chord. Absolutely amazing!"
Nick Schenkel

"The HOG is a psychotropic trip. It's part synthesizer, part B3, and not part of this Earth. By allowing you to smoothly (and polyphonically!) add sub-octaves, octaves, and upper 5ths and 3rds, all the way up to four octaves, you can sculpt your sounds like a B3 player does with drawbars. Then add envelope control over those harmonics and finally run the whole thing through a very smooth low-pass filter with frequency cutoff and resonance controls. Use your continuous foot controller (included!) or a MIDI Pitch Bend Wheel to do sci-fi ocatve bends, synthy filter sweeps, or wah. When you achieve the chord of your dreams you can freeze it and jam along with it. Then use your foot and glide your chord to new keys. Faaarrr Ouuuttt Maaannn!!!!"
