Todd, Dunedin, FL Reviewsbased on 3 reviewsA Paragraphic EQ Plug-In that I doesn't make me angry.
by Brendon Bigelow from Austin, TX
This EQ is really fantastic. That's quite a statement coming from me since I generally hate EQ Plug-Ins. I've always complained that EQ Plug-ins (Paragraphic ones, anyway) don't have "The Sound" of a ... read more [+]regular old console EQ. The Waves stuff generally makes me less angry. But... This thing is what I've been waiting for. It's great because it can do subtle things. And... You can also totally beat stuff up with it.December 31, 2011 Music Background: Producer, Mix Engineer, Occasional Recording Engineer (Mostly retired from that), Professional Musician. I'd say it's greatest feature is the different hardware models available on a "Per Band" basis. In other words, you can have an SSL modeled band and a Neve modeled band in the same Plug-in. The "Digital" models are great because one of them can do an asymmetrical bell curve meaning that the effect of the band is different above and below the frequency center. That's amazing! Beyond that, there's a built in Spectrum Analyzer. This is great because you can see what you're doing to the material. Never again do you have to worry about going too far. Another notable feature is the Mid Side capability. This allows one to EQ the Sum and the Difference separately. I've found this to be fairly useful in many situations. It also can turn your reverb bus into something completely insane (If that's what you're going for). That's not all. There are many other great features. I just don't mean to go on and on. Bottom Line: This EQ enables me to work faster because it sounds great sooner... If that makes sense. I don't have to try EQ after EQ to get what I'm after. I've used it on all that I've done since I bought it. close [-] Waves H-EQ Native

Very versatile EQ. Works well on everything. Still haven't explored all the great possibilities.
January 5, 2012 Music Background: Musician, Recording Engineer Very much a go-to Eq
by Manky from Brooklyn
In a fit of insecurity with Logics bundled Eq, I decided to get the H-Eq as a sort of step up. Its a really good Eq, small increments of change produce significant improvements when boosting. The anal... read more [+]ogue modeling is subtle, I can imagine if you commit to a certain type on every single instance of using H-Eq it will be more obvious. To my ears, switching between the model does have an immediate effect in terms of how the boosts "sit" in relation to the surrounding frequencies. Its almost like a type of Q control with subtle, pleasing distortion. October 2, 2012 Music Background: Producer For boosting, I don't feel the need for any other Eq's, unless Im going for an overal tonal shift (like using an amp simulator or an ambience with heavy tonal emphasis). My gripe with the software is cosmetic - I find the graphical depiction of the curve somewhat imprecise and often use Logics Eq for "surgical" cuts. Sometimes I have to rely on my eyes as I can get a bit carried away and cut into areas I know I will regret later. close [-] Also popular
