First off: I docked half a star because of the limiter component of this plug. It seems odd and unwieldy among the other features of this fantastic dynamics processor.May 3, 2013 Music Background: Music Background: Producer, Mix Engineer, Occasional Recording Engineer (Mostly retired from that), Professional Musician. I've used this thing ... read more [+]on many mix projects. My favorite thing about it is the interface. It's like a real compressor. The fact that it has knobs keeps you from over thinking what you're doing. But... If you want to really zero in on a setting, you just double click a knob and type in the value that you want. Awesome! Intuitive in general but surgical when you need it to be. As features go... I'd say the "Mix" knob is absolutely the "Star Feature" of this plug. You can do "Parallel Compression" right then and there. You don't have to bring up another channel and balance it against the original uncompressed one.... Then group it... Or, bus it... Blah, Blah, Blah. You just compress the SNOT out of it and dial back the mix 'til you've got what you want. Pure genius. I only own one other compressor that has this feature but I wish they all had it. There's another feature that enables one to sync the release time to the host tempo. I haven't found this to be extremely useful in band scenarios but in electronic music, I bet I'd use it quite a lot. I don't find it to be "Klunky". I have tons of compressor plugins. I use this one more than all the others. I guess that's the main thing. I "Get" the controls. It sounds great. And... It has a mix knob. Love It! close [-] Very good sounding, a bit clunky to use

First off, the sound of this thing is good. It has some good features, too - like sync'd release time. If you were stuck with just this one compressor and have some understanding of how compressors wo... read more [+]rk in general, you would be absolutely fine. October 2, 2012 Music Background: Producer However my gripe with this software is the interface. It makes my mouse hand cramp up a bit. Rotating virtual knobs is something I find uncomfortable, and imprecise. Also, it would be nice to have some clue as to what each analogue setting does (or what they are modeling). They clearly do something, and if I am in a patient mood it is well worth it to switch between the settings and actually (shock) listen. The problem is that in practise, its much faster for me to use the stock Logic plug in and get what Im going for. I have to say, the bundled Logic compressor is pretty impressive when you really get into it. I have a feeling using some sort of control surface (like a Mackie MCU or something) would make it a bit more user friendly. close [-]
