Impossible!!!

How can this be $400?! For starters, its functionality is INCREDIBLE! It replaces the need for a seperate monitor amp, monitor controller, A/B switcher, and headphone amp. The sound quality is incredibly flat, with tight punchy dynamics and a perfect stereo image through both headphones and speakers. If you think 20 watts of power isn't enough for your monitors, you're miserably wrong. Makes my Alesis Monitor One Mk2's sound better than the Bose system installed in my car! With balanced inputs, this is one piece of equipment I will keep forever.

When the band's in-ear wireless monitors went belly-up three days before a weekend performance, my Sweetwater salesguy Bob found this inexpensive headphone amp and shipped it to me in time for us to practice before the gig.

One stereo input drives six stereo headphone jacks. Each set of headphone gets its own individual volume control. It's also got speaker outputs to drive one or two pairs of loudpeakers instead of 'phones. With 20W per channel, the amp is sufficiently powerful to drive _any_ six headphones you can name, even above a drummer for other performers on stage. Matter of fact, I was worried about the musicians turning up their 'phones too loud, since the clarity of the mix was superior to the wireless monitors.

This is a great alternative to in-ear wireless monitors. The only real drawback was the additional cabling for running headphones to each musician. You may want to mic the audience a tad if your band uses this onstage with sealed-ear headphones; some of my musicians felt isolated until I did that.
