Get kids into the "Groove"! This is a special version of Sibelius Groovy Music Complete priced for educators. Groovy Music is a series of three exciting software programs for elementary and middle school students. Fun to use, Groovy Music teaches the basics of sound, rhythm, pitch and composition using pictures and animation - progressing to the study of simple notation as well as major and minor scales. Students love Groovy Music. It guides them with a simple voiceover and lets them create their own music as well as carry out directed activities, so there's plenty of room for creativity. In fact, Groovy Music is so compelling that once students start making music; they just won't want to stop! And best of all, Groovy Music is incredibly easy for both teachers and students. Groovy Music Complete at a Glance: Groovy Shapes Groovy Jungle Groovy City Groovy Shapes Groovy Music Complete is comprised of all three Groovy Music programs. In Groovy Shapes, the first of the three programs, children learn about basic music concepts. The Explore section guides them aurally through a series of progressive exercises which teach them how music works. They can then put into practice what they've learned by creating their own music in the Create section. Shapes are used to represent elements of music such as rhythms, melodies and chords. As your chosen character walks across the screen, the shapes play their sounds. A library of preset sounds is included, which children can simply drag onto the screen to build up their musical creation. They can then play back their piece, edit it, or even see the elements displayed as music notation. Groovy Jungle Groovy Jungle introduces children to notes and notation, ostinato, major and minor, and simple musical terms. More complex musical textures are explored, and additional instruments allow them to experiment further with their own compositions. Groovy City With Groovy City, children learn more about notation, and complete more complex listening tasks. They are also introduced to question and answer phrases and the blues scale, so that they can begin to build up more sophisticated compositions.
