This thing ROCKS!!!! Well worth every penny!! March 19, 2012 Music Background: Worship leader I bought the GiO to use with Apple's Mainstage 2. A quick word on that: Up until now I had a pretty extensive pedal board... read more [+] setup with multiple stomp boxes, and hadn't been able to find the 'perfect sound'... However, Mainstage 2, gives me a huge variety of sound and tweekability! The GiO is a seamless (and compact!!) way to preform live with Mainstage! It is super easy to get up and running and the fact that it is USB powered is just another plus to it's convenience. I haven't used the GiO to record with yet, but the hands-free control for recording is an awesome feature! close [-] Apogee GiO... Not perfect, but close.

I use Mainstage 2 as my guitar rig (with most of my the sounds from Amplitube 3), and I needed a means of changing patches and adding stomp effects. I was trying to decide between the Apogee GiO and ... read more [+]IK Multimedia's StompIO. I decided to go with the GiO for a few reasons:November 27, 2010 Music Background: Hobbyist, Church Musician - It's made by Apogee, who is known for their high quality products and sound. - It's powered by the USB bus, so no extra power is required. - It cost less than the StompIO. - It's designed for use with Mainstage 2. Having had the GiO for several months now, I really do like it. The sound quality is excellent, it is built like a tank, relatively small (but big enough for stomping on) and switching sounds in Mainstage 2 is instantaneous. Some negatives about the product are the fact that there is only one input, and the output is an unbalanced headphone jack (so you'll probably need a direct box for connecting to a PA system). If Apogee were to create a version 2.0 of this product, I would recommend that they add a second input for connecting a microphone, balanced outputs, and I would prefer if the patch change stomps were more like the silver stomp buttons. Please note that if you are using Mainstage, it must be Mainstage 2. I was not able to get the GiO to work with Mainstage 1. Overall, I'm happy with the GiO, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a foot controller for Mainstage 2. It also works with Logic Pro and Garageband. I should also mention that Apogee's tech support was very responsive to my questions both before and after I purchased the GiO. close [-] Also popular
