With GateEX, BIAS continues to provide pro-level corrective tools that are easy on the budget. Gates frequently come into play when mixing dialog recordings as a means to remove (or at least minimize) the amount of background noise or room tone that is heard between the speaker's words or phrases. In the studio or for music recordings, a gate such as GateEX is frequently used to isolate miked drum sounds from one another.
