When you put the battery in it is a little difficult to arrange the wires and you need to be careful because I could see someone impatiently causing some damage to or crimping a wire. Using the interface is easy. Plug in and you have output cord on back and you get a nice preamp boost to use without the software. GTR3 installation was a little confusing. The security license somehow got lost on my install, and the tech at Sweetwater had to help me get a license put back on the flash drive. That was pretty much the only inconvenience. The install has a long list of plugins and programs that requires you to check what you want installed. So what about Waves GTR3 ? I'm using the interface to mic in on a laptop. Not a "pro" setup". My buddy writes songs and Waves GTR3 will be more than adequate to put some guitar and to his music and experiment with. The presets are great. I tried some other demo guitar amp programs and to me, the GTR3 really sound the best. I use GTR3 to record some short clips to use in sequencing programs. I am trying to learn how to make electronica music, so unusual sounds are something that I like a lot. GTR3 has unusual presets to mess around with, and there are some really far out sounds that are already made for you to use. I'm using Ableton demo, and just make sure to install Waves to a vst folder that you have you're plugins in for Ableton, otherwise you will be changing folders to get to the GTR3, then changing back to a different folder to access a different vst. Pro: Interface is very nice. Once you learn how to use it you can record guitar tracks to use in other programs like Ableton. So mine works in the demo and it should work with non-demo. GTR3 presets are great. You have regular clean sounds and some really unusual ones to play around with. Con: Not worth mentioning again. close [-] Very close to the real thing

T... read more [+]here are a few cool products out there and I think most of the companies have got it down as far as including all the basic food groups of amps and effects (Marshall, Fender, Boogie…) so it really comes down to the tones and this one did it for me. Out of all the demos I tried (and I tried them all) this one came closest to the real thing. Yeah it’s not exactly the same as plugging into a half stack but its as close as your gonna get with software and when mixed into a track you’d have a hard time telling the difference. close [-]
