From Our Research Team:Fulltone - Amazing Sound and Quality! The Fulltone GT-500 is a truly unique overdrive pedal. There are two independent channels - a cool feature to say the least - but what really sets this stompbox apart is the unassuming toggle situated in the middle of the pedal. This toggle on the GT-500 lets you choose the signal path - place the Booster in front of or behind the Distortion channel to create your own custom distortion. For discerning guitarists on the quest for the ultimate distortion tones, the GT-500 is a perfect choice!Fulltone GT-500 at a Glance:
Long-lasting pots Fulltone's custom-made brass-shaft pots are among the strongest and smoothest feeling pots available. These amazing pots are mounted to the interior PCB board via a proprietary "thru-PCB" method rather than having the pot be secured by the pot terminals, drastically reducing pot-related failure. This method keeps Fulltone pedals up and running for the duration of your playing days. Plus, this eliminates the need for a bunch of jumper wires, keeping your tone as pure as humanly possible. Who uses Fulltone? The list of Fulltone fans reads like a who's who of guitar heroes. Both Ron Wood and Keith Richards have Fulltone gear in their touring rigs, as does Nigel Tufnel from the legendary British metal band Spinal Tap, and Boston bad-boys Joe Perry and Tom Hamilton. Punk/rockabilly mainstay Reverend Horton Heat is a Fulltone convert. Other notable Fulltone users include Pearl Jam's Stone Gossard, Jack Bruce of Cream, perennial alt rocker Lou Reed, and Tom Petty along with Heartbreaker Mike Campbell. Fulltone GT-500 Features:
Why buy Fulltone? Fulltone was founded in 1991 by session guitarist, composer, performer, and electronic tinkerer Michael Fuller. His pedals were born out of love for music and tone, as well as the frustration at the inconsistencies and the often fragile nature of vintage pedals. Fulltone pedals are 100% handmade in Southern California using the finest components, including custom-made 22-gauge copper wire with no tin coating, Fulltone-designed 3PDT switches, and custom-made brass shaft pots, mounted using Fulltone's proprietary "thru-PCB" method. The end result: Fulltone pedals are built to last and sound amazing.

Having owned over 50 overdrive pedals, I have to say the overdrive side of the pedal is lacking. But, it does a decent job. What I can say is the distortion side is awesome. I used to have an old Peav... read more [+]y amp and mainly played Hard Rock back in the day, and this nails that fat distortion tone I used to get. Plenty of gain and distortion on hand. Out of a sea of pedals this is one of the only dirt pedals I haven't sold. I consider it an essential part of my rig. The EQ on it is very versatile close [-]

I've never had a very good overdrive pedal before, but this pedal is way awesome. It sounds really good and has a very solid feel to it. Even after 3 week, I'm still figuring out new sounds.

This pedal is by far the best distortion I have ever heard. It stings, rings, sings and has the most beautiful harmonic textures. The booster channel, for me, makes for a great sounding rhythm crunch channel, while retaining clarity even for chording. Two seperate channels for a variety of too cool sounds. I love my GT-500. I got it for it's boost / overdrive function and the fact that you could run it's separate distortion section before or after the boost, both of which can be used at the same time. T... read more [+]he boost can be driven for some overdrive, or as a super clean boost that'll retain your guitar's tone when engaged. Very hard to find a pedal like this. The distortion side goes from grit to heavy saturation, even capable of some metal tones, though I haven't played metal since I was 16. The boost has Bass / Highs eq knobs, while the distortion side has Bass / Mid / Highs eq knobs. The mid knob is pulled directly from one of Fulltone's wahs allowing very "vocal" midrange sweep adjustments, providing distorted tones from fasal to super scooped. And you could combine it with the boost side and IT'S eq for a huge range of tones. It's hand-wired and built tough. Nearly endless gain possibilities here........ close [-]
