I've been using a GT40 in the studio for a couple of years now. So far, the only instrument that it hasn't been perfectly suited for is a close-mic'd violin. From a distance (2 meters) it's fine.February 24, 2009 Music Background: recording engineer, producer. Vocals shine with this mic as do acoustic guitars.. a bit of top end brightness without being shrill. A nice gloss. Very solid and tight low end, perfect for acoustic or electric bass. As I said earlier, the only thing where it wasn't perfect without some eq was on violin.. and with a high-end roll-off, it would work nicely. It's incredibly well-built, has a great shock mount, and the cabling and power supply are heavy duty. Built to last and built to sound great. close [-] Sweetwater Advice
