WOW!!!!!!

My Sweetwater rep, Keith Schrieber, helped me revamp my studio and we chose this beauty to put in the mix bus chain. But, this thing absolutely rocks on drums, piano, etc. It gives you that very true and musical "spank" sound that everyone's always talking about. Couldn't be happier with my purchase!

The mix bus comp of them all

I am very happy with my SSL bus XL logic comp. It sound better to me than most on the 2 bus. Its a must have in any pro level studio. If you don't have one. Get it. I have no complaints. It kills the plug in from Waves. And kills most of my other comps on the 2bus.

Makes Me Sound Pro!

Owning one of these things makes me terribly proud. It brings an indescribable pro-sound to a project studio's mixes. I set it up midway through mixdown, once I'm generally comfortable with levels and basic EQ. It makes everything sound punchy, it tames the bass in a very pleasing non-pumping fashion, and just adds mojo. It's really fun to set up, too, because your ear piques when you've achieved the right balance of threshold, attack and release. It's like going to an optometrist and nailing down the perfect eyeglass prescription with that big silly lens flipper tool.

Smooth and Punchy

Very nice across the stereo bus. I mix down with an analogue board and this unit adds to the analogue sound. Very fat, reduces mixing mistakes you might make. Makes mixes dynamic sounding while keeping the levels even. Easy to use and the autofade unit is killer- I love it. Unit also has side chain inputs in case you want to key the compressor.

One of my favorites!

I was so happy to hear that SSL's G series buss compressor had been adapted to peice of outboard gear. This is a familiar sounding compressor thats extremely smooth. And it's becoming the only buss compressor I use. With an SSL lunchbox and this compressor, you'd swear the material went through an SSL large format console. I just love this thing.
