Cocobolo
This tonewood doesn't just have a tasty name; it's tone is very delectable as well. This beautiful wood's tone is often compared by luthiers to that of Brazilian rosewood. If you know your tonewoods, you know that Brazilian rosewood was used for "classic-era" acoustics but is in very short supply these days (commonly replaced by Indian rosewood and other materials in today's instruments). Using cocobolo not only makes for a stunning-looking guitar - you get excellent projection and rich tone, too.

Elegant details
In addition to the Grand Symphony Koa CE LTD's excellent tonewoods, some great details stand out: abalone edging on the top, koa binding, and even a rare koa mini-wedge adding even more distinction to the cocobolo back. It's subtle yet stunning, a very versatile instrument that looks as great as it sounds!

Taylor's Grand Symphony adds to the concept of Taylor's Grand Auditorium. By moving the waist up more toward the neck and making the lower bout a bit more "pregnant," the guitar itself is a little bigger - and its sound is huge! You can expect a deeper, more piano-like bass sound with more volume and a good low-end sustain. Yet, the mids and highs are still just as clear and detailed.
