Best Budget Orchestral VST

I've been using this library for around 5 years now. The instruments are very workable and sound pretty decent for the price, in fact I still layer some of the libraries or use some instruments out-right for some of my newer projects, and those projects include libraries like EW Hollywood Orchestra and Cinematic Studio Strings.

What really stood out to me with this library actually, was their selection and sound of woodwinds. Honestly, I think they perform better and in times sound better than Hollywood Orchestra's woodwinds. I also find their harp selection hard to beat for the price, and haven't bothered to seek out a better harp library due to the sound and functionality especially when one of the harp patches is destined for glissandos that you can change the harp keys with your mod-wheel and perform the glisses by hand for any scale.

Another big plus about them is their CPU/Memory footprint; you can use this library on a laptop with 8GB ram and can create good arrangements with them. Their sound, selection of instruments, and small footprint is good enough that I actually created a template of around 60 instruments to sketch with, and then go back over with better sounding libraries.

All in all, if you are interested in created either orchestral music or using orchestral instruments in your arrangement, you can't go wrong with GPO5.

Love this software!

i've used Garritan since 2016 and love it! My old computer died and I couldn't get the files to download properly on my new computer so I ended up buying a new copy from sweetwater. I bought the original copy from Amazon- they have no customer service and can't help with issues. I talked with Pepe Rivera- he was great! I am very confident if I have any issues with the software I will get assistance. Plus you guys are cheaper than Amazon! LOL Thanks for your help!

Garritan Instruments

I really enjoy the Garritan Instruments and how real they sound. They have such a great variety. I'm a piano player and one of the most real sounding pianos is the CFX Garritan Piano.

Great value

I haven't used any high end orchestration plug ins, but it's hard to imagine finding a better value option. The sounds are good and works for my needs. There are a lot of options to choose from. I like incorporating the instruments into pop/rock arrangements and they work great for that, but I'd be comfortable letting some of the GPO instruments be more prominently featured in songs too. Would highly recommend giving GPO a try.

Great product at a great price

I'd been looking at sound libraries for some time (particularly of orchestral instruments) and was rather discouraged by prices that were often several thousand dollars. But then I found out about the Garritan Personal Orchestra and found it to contain exactly what I was looking for and for a price I could afford. The sounds of the instruments are excellent quality and there are enough "inner" controls to help shape the sounds into effectively realistic ones. I had no troubles installing the software and, once it was fully loaded, I was up and running in about 15 minutes. I am super satisfied with this purchase and I expect to be making a lot of game/film music with it.

And, as always, I have to tip my hat to Sam Hillman, my sales rep. He's a good example of why Sweetwater has the best customer service of any company or service I've ever dealt with (I kid you not!). Sam is always a text or call away and he stays in touch to make sure everything is working according to plan. I'm a Sweetwater customer to the end.
