My first brand new guitar; thus, my first attempt at a product review. I just hope I can help the next guitarist make the right choice. February 14, 2012 Music Background: Hobbyist First impressions are everything and I was not l... read more [+]et down when I slid the guitar out of the box. Even the case was beautiful. I opened up the case and just marveled at what I saw. The guitar was absolutely amazing. I picked it up and inspected every inch and could not find one flaw. After using the on-board tuner to tune low E (used the ear to do the rest), I strummed a open G, C, & D. I was blown away by the rich tone and sustain. I then dropped the pick and plucked out classics such as Crystal Ball, dust in the wind, and Beth (unplugged version). My last test was to solo up and down the neck (Key of A). When I played Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here" for my wife I thought I was David Gilmore for a second! Guess what I am trying to say is that the Martin GPCPA4 has elevated the quality of my playing. FYI: I have three other guitars (USA Ovation Balladeer, USA Fender Stratocaster, and a Custom SG). All of these guitars needed to be set up to my liking. The Martin will also need a little tweaking. A little too much relief puts the action slightly high from frets 4-10. To be expected since set up at factory is generic. The Martin strings are a little tough at first also. May switch to light Elixirs (.011-.052). Long story short, the guitar is amazing and I couldn't be happier. Thanks Sweetwater! close [-] I am totally satisfied, the product and the service are great!
