I had a GSP2101 and figured let's see what has changed. Surprise indeed. The GNX4 sounded great. Just like the reviewers here I was impressed and overjoyed. Thru a YAM 5000 powered mixer it blows my mind. Clear effects, clean sounds and no noise like I had with competitor gear. 1st day I read the manual. With my Strat handy I started recording the 2nd day. 8 track was CD sound clear. I tracked with headphones and then thru powered monitors. Stellar. GNX4 has some unique features too. Drum sounds are good and adjustable. You can make your own too. The midi player will play the drum songs. Or you can record the songs on mp3 and play along. Once on the flash card, you don't need to be connected to a computer. Happy reviewers here said supermodel disc is needed. It is if you want more sounds. The sounds are awesome and training tutorials for the gnx4 are a bonus. It was only there I learned about expression and control assigning. This is another unique feature that you can use. Assign a foot switch to change your sounds instantly. You don't need a whole bank of presets. You can change amp, effects, and add compression in one press. Push again, and you are right back to where you were. This makes it easy to punch in Solos and change effects how you like. Stompbox distortion pedals are very good. I like the version of the ProCo Ratt, TS9 and Sparkledrive. Rev's are based on Lexicon too! Great product for any guitar player! Get Yours and be happy! close [-] GNX4 Can do !

Superb 8 channel digital recording device with USB so you can record up to 4 channels at once :) Amp & Cabinet modeling - Mind blower ! FX's for both the guitar and or vocals option puts it light years above the rest:) More than likely the 10 stomp boxes it has will cover anything you need in stomp box sounds . Mixer for your vocals & guitar and line level inputs like a mixer with many channels . Midi drum machine thats not shabby . With enough memory now for super long session live recording /looping with a 2 gig memory card , I'm in a cloud . Took a bit of determination to read and re read the manual , but , it's well worth it , in fact it's fool proof , you just got to get off your @$$ to make it work , and we all know too well that to play a guitar takes exactly that kind of determination . What I read so far in other GNX4 reviews is that those who love it take time to understand it completely by reading the manual ( and give Digitech Tech service a call for some friendly helpful advice is all it takes )it explains it's self thoroughly . Those that don't read the manual ( or can't ? ), well , the worlds full of wannbees . My manual is dog eared and the cover pics are messed up , I had to re staple it and re enforce it with tape , on the other hand my young nephews looks unused ( he dose not know have the stuff I know about our respective units and learns from me ) because he never cracks it open . My band has said I have improved so much from using this GNX4. I had my GNX4 for 3 months before I tapped into the grail of supermodels.March 11, 2007 Music Background: Student, Musician GNX4-Rugged, sturdy metal. Built very well. I find the amps to be decent but took the advice from jack loganbills website and found the supermodels add on. My my what a difference. The GNX4 bursted out of it's shell. From Boogie sounds to 20+ different Marshall sounds, Diesel, Randall, you name it. The largest amp library ever. My GNX4 can be the cleanest Fender or the heaviest type VHT. No worries about learning the GNX4. Add On's come with videos of how to run this thing and use the editor. Priceless in my book! I have my GNX4 through a VHT 2-50 power amp and pair of lopo cabs. Incredible! Routing is easy. I use the mains XLR to my PA. Then I use the line outs to my VHT. GNX4 has separate output levels and acts like it's own mixer.
