ReviewsVersatile Unit

This unit really delivers. Aside from the excellent effects, you're able to channel switch your amp with it also. You also have the option of using the variou programs and writing your own. Or, just t... read more [+]urning the effects on and off. I use this with the Roland FC-300 midi foot controller and a Boogie Stiletto Ace 50 watt combo, a Boogie 50/50 stereo amp and two Rectifier 1X12's. There isn't a sound a can't get with these few pieces of gear and all very controllable. The learning curve isn't to steep either. This is all the effects you'll ever need unless your an effects hound. This unit used in a stereo setup is very capable of anything you can whip up. close [-]

I thought I would never consider any rackmount effects on my Guitar Rig. In the past few years I had collected quite a few petals, cables and power supplies to create my sound. Two friends raved about... read more [+] the G-Major. When one offered to loan me his to try I could never of imagined how blown away I was with the quality of sound effects this puppy comes loaded with. I've used it in the effects loop of my Rivera. I retired almost all my petals after hearing the sounds I tracked in the studio. I added the G-Minor to my live set-up and our soundman suggested I've never sounded so good. I've recorded Bass tracks that jumped in the mix. Acoustic Guitar came out with crisp sparckle. My one setback has been accessing and adjusting the presets took a little getting use too. The delays and reverbs make up for any inconvenience. The built-in tuner is a major plus also. I highly recommend this unit! close [-]

Great sounds. Pretty flexible. User interface is a bit tricky and manual is not a lot of help.

First .... The tuner feature is awesome. Having it without needing a separate unit is a big plus. There are numerous ways to use this unit. I have it in my midi guitar rig between the preamp and power... read more [+] amp. I hooked it up several ways and that sounds the best to me. It also lets me use the expression pedal as a volume pedal, which is great. The reverbs are nice and the chorus has a nice character to it. I don't normally use many other effects unless if I'm working on someone else's music and it's called for, but I gave them a good workout and they sound impressive. It's nice to have them there when I need them. I have the TC D-TWO for delays, which is a higher end, delay specific unit, but the G Major has some nice delays and some great guitarist presets. To have all that this offers AND a tuner in one rack unit at this price is impressive. close [-]

Carson McClainIf you are an FX researcher you will know that this box can accomplish a lot. For the live guitarist there are very few FX that sound as good and perform as well as this box. If you like complex patch design you will love this. TC Electronic G-Major
