Whether you use it for recording or in a live performance situation that demands ultimate performance, the 8304 will deliver pristine sound with flexible control. Affordably priced, the 8304 is hand built and calibrated in limited production quantities using selected components.And all in a 1U rackmount case!

Transformerless circuits
The 8304's all-discrete, bipolar transistor circuit topologies are completely transformerless with no FETs, ICs, or electrolytic capacitors in the signal path. Even the outputs are direct-coupled; proven active servos remove DC without adding any artificial color.

15dB to 70dB input gain for any sound source
From 15dB up to a whopping 70dB of amplification, the 8304's input gain is selectable in precise 5dB steps. It accommodates all sources from low output ribbon mics through semi-pro keyboards to inserts in super hot mastering chains with one knob. A +24dBv CLIP indicator warns of any impending overloads and switchable phantom powering is built in.

“This unit is really great. Transparent, clean, tons of headroom. I only have one problem with this pre and it bugs me alot. Why are the Phantom Power switches on the back? It really can get annoying sometimes. Otherwise, great.”
