PERFECT case for the Xponent, laptop and a Trigger Finger

Just got back from a trip through Houston, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas. LOTS of flights, everything from big commercial Boeings down to 8-seater Cessnas.
In a word, the Gator bag was PERFEC ... read more [+]T.
Packed my Xponent, Powerbook, Trigger Finger and Odyssey stand, along with all associated cables and knicknacks. Didn't even need to use the bag in "extended" configuration.
Didn't have a single problem with any check-in or security stop. Bag fit no problem into the overhead bin, although I did have to turn it sideways (rather than "end-in" to save space).
Zippers are strong and the bag is rugged as hell. Not a single sign of wear after this trip, particular impressive given the way Cape Air shoved the Gator into the carry-on compartment located behind the Cessna's left engine. Trolley system was flawless and absolutely critical, especially at one of the resorts where I had a number of VERY long walks with the equipment. The ease and speed of removing the trolley also came in handy on two occasions.
Pocket placement and configuration is excellent; the only gripe I have is that two of the pockets have velcro-flap enclosures rather than zippers. Beefy enough that I'll trust it in carry-on through airports and bigger planes, but not something I felt safe with on the smaller planes, shuttle buses and taxis. close [-]

To anyone looking for a good padded case for their Torq Xponent, this is it. I did an exact measurement of the Xponent before I bought this case, because I got the exact dimensions from the Gator web ... read more [+]site, and the controller fits 100% perfectly! It's built well, has plenty of padding inside, has room for headphones in the bottom front pocket, and has room for a few cables too.
I forwarded some buyers to Sweetwater to buy one of these for their Xponent :) close [-]

When I first got this bag I thought it was the greatest thing. There's tons of room for laptop, mobile preamp, extra hard drive, powere adaptersand keyboard. As my Macbook pro aged and I wasn't as wo ... read more [+]rried about scratches, I've also shoved in binders and scores. The only thing that has always made me nervous is that, even though it's padded on the sides, there's no sleeve to prevent your laptop from thumping all the way to the bottom when you insert it. (Good depth for storage, but bad for jarring.) It stretches the dimensions of a carryon, mostly because of the rigid plastic structure which holds the bottom shape and attaches wheels. Most of the time, I must fly with the computer in my lap and the bag checked planeside. Trying to stuff it in overheads has led to missing screws and plastic pieces. It still keeps rolling.
Multiple pockets are very cool but I've lost lots of little things out of the larger front pocket because of the stiff (durable) material and proximity to top pockets which makes it very hard to tuck in to pull zipper all the way around. Wish that zipper was more accessible. Lots of hangnails from zippers and rough surfaces. There is a limited warranty, but before spending the postage I figured that my wear and tear problems probably weren't covered. I'd buy another if the plastic was a tad narrower and if there was a strap or sleeve to prevent the computer from just dropping to the bottom. Excellent wheels have survived daily beating on stairs close [-]
