With its solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides, the rosette-adorned GD30-CE resonates with bold dreadnought tone. You get impressive playability, courtesy of a comfortable ovangkol fingerboard with a 12" radius. Takamine has also fitted the GD30-CE with their TP4T preamp, for clear, natural-sounding amplified tone. If you're in the market for a great-looking, sounding, and playing acoustic, we've got yours: the Takamine GD30-CE.

Great sound is in the details

The Takamine GD30-CE acoustic-electric guitar benefits from premium tonewoods and Takamine's painstaking attention to detail. With its solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides, the GD30-CE serves up big, clear dreadnought tone. And with its eye-catching natural gloss finish and classic rosette, your fans' ears won't be the only sensory organs riveted on your performance. If it's beefy dreadnought power and visual presence you're after, the Takamine GD30-CE guitar is for you.

Takamine - 50 years of quality, great sound, and playability

The Takamine GD30-CE dreadnought cutaway acoustic-electric guitar benefits from a half-century of Takamine guitar-crafting knowhow. Launched in 1962 at the foot of Japan's Takamine mountains, Takamine has been designing and building acoustic guitars that are seen in the hands of some of music's biggest stars. With quality and value as guiding principles, Takamine's instruments employ the finest tonewoods, construction techniques, and technical innovations, such as the proprietary TP4T preamp system found in this guitar.

Takamine's TP4T preamp system

The GD30-CE sports Takamine's TP4T preamp, giving you rich, clear-sounding amplified output, instantly. A feature of G-Series guitars, the TP4T features a gain knob; a tuner; an active shelving EQ with bass, middle, and treble sliders; and a low battery indicator. The preamp is switched on by plugging a standard instrument cable into the end pin/strap pin jack. Unplugging the cable turns the preamp off. The TP4T is powered by a single 9-volt battery.

Takamine GD30-CE Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:

  • Classic cutaway dreadnought body style
  • Solid spruce top with mahogany sides and back
  • Ovangkol fingerboard with dot inlays
  • Takamine TP4T preamp for great amplified tone
  • Preamp includes a chromatic tuner at your fingertips to keep you in tune

Takamine GD30CE is a solid, smooth feeling, smooth sounding Acoustic Electric. Great Salesperson Candace Irizarry

I just received my Takamine GD30CE. It is absolutely what I wanted and what Candace Irizarry helped me pick out.
She is so knowledgeable and friendly and had to use some patience with me to get me to view the options that I
could do in the purchase. I came in a very secure box that had inside boxes and protection pads that kept this
Guitar safe and sound. It came in perfect pitch and felt marvelous to strum and sing with.

Thank you Candace Irizarry and Sweetwater Company!

Great Acoustic Tone -- Well Constructed -- A Value-Priced Winner

Not having played many acoustic guitars -- I'm 99% an Electric Guitar Player -- I was unsure of purchasing an acoustic guitar in this price range. I wanted something better than entry-level, but didn't want to break the bank. This guitar delivered on both buying points and more.

Regarding tone, the spruce top produces very good tone. The lows are full, mids are are good, and highs are clear and pleasant. The guitar produced good electric tone even using a Line6 digital rig (HX Stomp XL + Line6 Powercab 12 Plus). I did need to defeat the highs quite a bit to arrive at a pleasant overall tone; however, this could be more to do with my Electric-Guitar-centered rig than the included TP-4TD preamp.

The guitar is very well constructed. Fretwork seems descent; no sharp edges and reasonably level fret-to-fret. The nut is flush with the neck (a pet peeve of mine if it's not), and the soundboard bracing -- advertised as quarter-sawn wood -- is installed under the kerfed interior edging wood strips that keep back, front and sides together. Intonation is spot-on, and, at the twelfth fret, string height is just under 2.25mm and 1.75mm on the low "E" and high "E" sides respectively. String height rises to 2.75mm and 1.75mm at the twentieth fret on the low "E" and high "E" sides respectively.

I would not hesitate to purchase a Chinese-made Takamine after experiencing the quality, sound, and value of this guitar!

Awesome!!

Daniel Free is one of the most knowledgeable and friendly sales engineer I have ever had the privilege to speak with. I wasn't really certain what accustic guitar I wanted I had tried and epiphone hummingbird and it was awesome sound wise but feel wise it wasn't for me. After a heavy debate over what I should get Daniel weighted in and put Mr in contact with this bad boy. Thanks Daniel for all you have done. You're the best.

GD 30 CE Takamine

I have had this guitar for a few day's now and everytime I play it it impresses me more and more. Now I have played very high end electric acoustics in the past and I can honestly say I would put this Takamine up against any of them. The craftsmanship is excellent and the electronics is unsurpassable. For a ...dollar acoustic it is absolutely amazing and the playability is very easy.If I can say this save your money people and get one of these guitar's you'll be glad you did. Wow!

Winner Winner

Excellent service from Sweetwater as usual - good communication and fast shipping. Thanks, Adam.

Got mine as a demo and looked for the missing finish that was noted in the pictures, but honestly, can't find a scratch on it.

Looks good, plays good, sounds good.

Made a slight neck adjustment, swapped strings to my preference, and she's good to go.

No complaints.
