I needed a guitar that would look great without looking flashy, hold its own when I waltz into a bar and play acoustically trying to drum up business and command attention on stage because I am a notorious tone snob. This baby does the trick! I put a Martin Thin-line Gold plus pick-up in and use a L.R. Baggs Paracoustic D.I. and play through a keyboard PA amp (which I mean to replace very soon!). Everyone compliments me on my tone!! To give you an idea of my preferences, it is my personal contention that the Martin D-28 is the best sounding guitar in the world. It has an undescribable growl that drives me wild. This guitar has the same type of growl and tone!! The difference is that while the Martin is best played by itself, this Guild almost "understands" that it's job is to compliment a singer. It sounds perfect without overwhelming your own voice... ahh, just what I was looking for...!! close [-]

I never expected to find such quality in a guitar made in Chine. It sits very nicely with my martins, tacomas American guild DV52. And so cheap too! Incredible quality all the way.
