Taylor's Grand Auditorium combines the width and depth of a Dreadnought with a narrower waist. Its sleek design yields a strong treble zing across the tonal spectrum and sharpens the definition of individual notes. The Grand Auditorium is a strong fingerpicking guitar that also adapts well to medium strumming. With the natural sparkle produced by the Grand Auditorium body style combined with select tonewoods, these newest Taylors have a sound all their own. Simply an excellent all around acoustic. I had been shopping for medium priced Taylor for quite some time, playing a lot of GA3's, 314's, 310's, 410's, DN4's, etc. I was about to pull the trigger on a... read more [+] DN4 when I saw this GA8 on the wall. My wallet begged me not to pick it up, but the beautiful gloss rosewood insisted. Within seconds it was clear that I was playing an instrument in a different league than the rest. The sound was fuller, the neck felt smoother and stronger, the frets felt quick and effortless. My girlfriend, bored of listening to guitars she could not distinguish much difference in suddenly looked up and said "Wow, that one sounds amazing."

Haven't looked back since! The guitar sounds best finger picking and responds well to fast, accurate, confident inputs. For such a great finger picking guitar it also sounds impressive for light to medium strumming. If you want something to hammer power chords on, I would probably recommend staying away. Otherwise, this is a soon to be classic. close [-]
