From Our Research Team:

A Revolutionary 12-string Capo!

Winner of Guitarist magazine's "Gold Award" in the UK, and an Acoustic Guitar magazine bronze award in the US (after only 2 months on sale), the G7th Performance capo is a completely new approach to capo design. It has none of the disadvantages of conventional capos, but instead offers enhanced performance and is simple to use. Not only that, it looks and feels great!

The G7th 12-string capo is designed specifically for 12-string guitars. Features a longer arm than the standard model - for wider fingerboards - and a specially formulated rubber to apply even pressure to the octave strings.

The G7th Performance capo's wrap spring clutch consists of just three elements: a fixed hub, a moving hub, and a spring whose inside diameter is just slightly smaller than the outside diameter of the two hubs. When the spring is forced over the two hubs, attempting to rotate in the direction which opens the capo wraps it down tightly on the hubs, positively engaging them.

Rotation in the other direction, to tighten the G7th capo onto the strings, is not restricted. To release the capo, the control tang is moved in the direction to unwind the spring, thus releasing the clutch.

G7th12-String Performance Capo Review

by Ed from Citrus Springs, Florida

Music Background: Playing for years than I can remember
I have reviewed this item many times over the years, albeit at the request of different suppliers, and my comments will always remain the same - OUTSTANDING in every respect. Their quality is superb ... read more [+]- I've never had one fail. Many might consider them pricey as compared to all the other Capo's on the market however, what price do you put on the quality of the sound your looking for? Regardless of the instrument I own, every instrument has their own Capo in the case (6 or 12-string version) I also use and have them available for my 6 & 12-string GT Banjo's and thin-neck Resonator's. If you use a Capo (and who doesn't), this is a must-have in your gig bag/case. close [-]

Best CAPO I've used for my 12 string.

This is the best 12 String Capo that I've ever used. I had a major problem with the 1st fret. All my capos worked on the 2nd and higher. I had the canvas strap, bungee strap, and a heavy steel cla... read more [+]mp.
My latest had been the steel clamp, and during Mass I could not play one of the songs that required capo 1.

I had problems with all of them on the 1st strap. My guitar is a 12 string yamaha, that I bought in 1981 for about $300. A lot of money for me back then - used it for high school folk group.
With this capo, I can add the additional pressure on fret 1 and less on the others. It absolutely works perfect.

Support from Sweetwater was great too. close [-]

Mixed Feelings

I may have to come back later and give this capo another rating. Right now I'm sitting on the fence. At first the G7 left about 5 strings buzzing on my Takamaine 12 String. The rubber on the strings m... read more [+]ight be a little too soft. After two months, it feels like things are getting better, and I'd now use this at a gig. Just need a little more confidence that it will work without a problem. close [-]

The best customer service I've ever received. Never has there been a better buying experience. Sweetwater is always my number one choice for all my needs. The customer service and general reliability is relaxing and just amazing.
