Keeping in mind that another reviewer lamented the fact that a 5135 (Gretsch Corvette/CVT models) do not fit perfectly in this case, it should be made clear that this case was never intended for the 5... read more [+]135 series guitars. April 25, 2012 Music Background: Semi-Pro Musician / Live Sound The 6238FT case was specifically designed for the Gretsch JET models, including the 6121, 6128, 6129, 6130, 6131, 6134, plus the old Electromatic Pro Jet series (5235, 5236, 5238, 5245, 5246, 5248), and also the NEW Electromatic Pro Jets (5434, 5435, 5438, 5445, 5448). All of these models have the same body dimensions, and should fit quite nicely in this case. The 5135 Corvette/CVT models are designed to fit a Fender style rectangular Strat/Tele case. The Gretsch-branded cases are actually made by TKL, so if you are familiar with them, you will know that they are of reasonable quality, even at this price point. close [-] Gretsch 6238FT

The case is built very well, nice posh inside, rugged and warm looking. The problem, although minor, is that it's not a perfect fit for a G5135. The body of the guitar does not rest on the base of c... read more [+]ase, it is lifted by the neck support, which raises the guitar a little too high for a free-closing of the case. The pressure, while small, is on the neck, mostly by the nut...but still, the guitar is held tightly in place. I modified it myself just by pushing the neck support lower. (It seems to be only foam) My Epiphone & Rickenbacker cases, and my cheap Estaban case are like suction fits... This case is obviously for a variety of models. Very nice case, but not perfect for the G5135 I would expect from Gretsch. close [-]
