ReviewsThe True Black-Beauty!
by Eric Porter from Veto, Ohio
I purchased my Gretsch Pro Jet 4-weeks ago, and was honestly overwhelmed when I opened the package from Sweetwater. This guitar really brought back memories of a mid 80’s Country Gentleman I had for ... read more [+]a few years, but traded away because I was beginning to wear-away the gold plating and it had a longer scale length. February 8, 2010 Music Background: Guitar hobbist nearly 40 years with Country & Gospel music. This Pro Jet black-beauty has the unique Gretsch quality. The finish is flawless. The action, as received, was right. I have enjoyed well over 100-hours of playing this fine true fretboard already, and can truthfully say it looks, feels, plays and sounds like a Gretsch. I like the anchored bridge, the smaller body size, the light weight, and am indeed proud to own this one. Negatives? The mini-humbuckers sound good, but are really poo-poo in output. My Peavey Vyper amp has a 0-13 volume knob, (which was set at “4˝” with my Gibson), and is now all the way up to “10” for the Pro Jet. This is a super looking guitar, so why didn’t Gretsch go ahead with the black instead of walnut stained back? Conclusion: The Pro Jet still is very impressive. It is a true great guitar for the money. Buy it; you will have no regrets. close [-] Sweetwater Advice
Carson McClainThis is a real looker when it comes to guitars. I spotted this in the Sweetwater guitar room and my mouth dropped. Very nice.
Nick SchenkelThis guitar is an amazing value! Finally, an affordable way to capture that early-Beatles, George Harison tone. Pair this baby up with a Vox AC-15 and you've got the British Invasion sound for just about a grand. Gretsch Electromatic Pro Jet
