My Gretsch Double Cutaway

Before I review the instrument I purchased, I need to say that I do a lot of business with online retailers and I have never experienced the level of professionalism and customer service that I did from Sweetwater. It was easy to order my item online and I was contacted via email and phone by an associate from the company. They gave me every detail I needed to put my mind at ease. My item came just a week later. It arrived in perfect condition. My Gretsch Double Cutaway is a gem of a guitar. Not only is it a gorgeous instrument, it sounds
great as well. I own a few high-end guitars, and this guitar, although not priced or classified as high-end guitar, is now one of my favorites.

I bought this guitar brand new, and I just fell in love! This guitar is just beautiful! And the best part is that it sounds just as good as it looks! I originally bought it with the intentions of putting TV Jones pickups in it but after playing the stock gretsch pickups Im not changing a thing. this guitar is so smooth and virsitle too! And the bigsby is just sweet sweet icing on the cake. I definatly recomend this guitar for any music stlye except for maybe metal, granted this guitar can do some nasty shredding! The only reson i didnt give this guitar 5 stars is mostly because of the floating bridge, its a pain in the neck to get it set right but once it is it makes this beauty sing! BUY THIS GUITAR!!

Needed a bit of work out of the box

I bought the Gretsch G5122D after doing quite a bit of research about it. Sweetwater was impeccable when it came to the ordering and customer service follow up. My only issue with the guitar was that I HAD to have the frets 'planed' as the action was terribly uneven across the fretboard. Fortunately, I have an excellent man for this nearby. He explained that it was not uncommon especially in Korean Mfg instruments and it was no big deal to fix the frets. I am very satisfied with everythng else and am enjoying playing this guitar.
