I can see how die hard keyboard players could nitpick about certain functions or glitches but come on man. This workstation is amazing for the price. I would never bash ALESIS for anything on this syn... read more [+]th because whatever function I don't like I say to myself, who cares look at how much I paid. Not that I have anything to complain about. I freaking love my 8HD and would never give it up. 40 gig hard drive that lets you swap new sounds-songs-samples as quick and easy as dragging them over the hard drive icon on your desktop. There is just too much the FUSION offers to not buy one. I've owned a Yamaha S80 & MOTIF 8 and I would never pay those prices again. However, after spending a hour playing it side by side with a Yamaha M08, ... read more [+]I decided the Fusion was the real deal. Everything in life is a balance, right? Once I balanced the features, the customizable sounds, the availability of unlimited downloadable sounds (most free!), the 8-tracks of analog inputs, the 40 gig hard drive, etc., against the somewhat better sounds of the Yamaha M08, I made the decision to get the Fusion 8D. After playing with it for the past week I am thrilled and confident that I made the right decision. By the way, I believe the "Holy Grail" piano sound to be superior to the M08 piano. Plus, there are about 300 additional sounds via a free download. They are by Hollow Sun and many of them are superb. Also, all of the preloaded and downloaded sound are customizable and can be saved on the workstation as new sounds that you get to name. The analog inputs let me record a preamped guitar, mic, bass, etc., over the top of the tracks I record on the workstation. This keeps me from lugging around mixers and laptops. close [-]
