Freeze That Sound and Hold It!

Count on the mad geniuses at electro-harmonix to give you the power to freeze and hold your guitar's notes and chords - for as long as you like! The aptly named Freeze sound-retainer pedal lets you play a note or a chord, hit the pedal, and freeze that sound in sustained place, indefinitely. You can choose between fast or slow decay to let the sound fade out. Or choose the Latch function and let the sound continuously sustain for as long as you like. Best of all, once you've captured a sustained sound, you can continue to play over it. It's an amazing self-accompaniment tool! Freeze also lets you dial in exactly the amount of effect you want, so it's perfect for a wide range of applications.

electro-harmonix Freeze Sound Retainer Guitar Effects Pedal Features at a Glance:

I've been having a ball with this pedal since it arrived the other day. Looking forward to tomorrow night's rehearsal when I can break it in with the band. Perfect For What It Does

The Freeze is a great pedal for creating sustain tones and drones underneath your playing. The quality of the freeze sound is superior to both the EHX HOG and the Roland VG-99, both of which I have ex... read more [+]tensive experience with. It is simple to set up and use and is also pretty quiet.

You will find that the Freeze works particularly well when fed into a chorus or similar modulator to liven up the sound a bit. The frozen sound can be a bit bland by itself. close [-]

From the first demo to the unit I just received from Sweetwater the Freeze is living up to its promise. It is simpler than looping pedals to get musically usefull results with this box. Freezing reverb tails really expands the atmosperics palette for psychobilly and surf guitar. Can't wait to put it across the fx bus in the mixer. A cool, inventive pedal, especially for us bass players. Highly recommended. I look forward to what new and weird stuff EH has in store in the future.

Our Customers Say...

Ninety-five percent of everything in this studio came from Sweetwater. My Sales Engineer is a lifesaver. I started working with him around 2005, talking to him about what my vision was for the studio. He was right there all the way.
