Freeze That Sound and Hold It!

Count on the mad geniuses at Electro-Harmonix to give you the power to freeze and hold your guitar's notes and chords - for as long as you like! The aptly named Freeze sound-retainer pedal lets you play a note or a chord, hit the pedal, and freeze that sound in sustained place, indefinitely. You can choose between fast or slow decay to let the sound fade out. Or choose the Latch function and let the sound continuously sustain for as long as you like. Best of all, once you've captured a sustained sound, you can continue to play over it. It's an amazing self-accompaniment tool! Freeze also lets you dial in exactly the amount of effect you want, so it's perfect for a wide range of applications.

Fun and more useful than you will ever know...

I read and watched videos about this pedal before buying it. Was extremely excited. Experiencing this pedal is mind blowing. Such a simple thing adds so much flavor to performances. Really shines when mixed with other effects, i just need a 3rd leg foot to get the most from it :) Sustaining harmonics in solos or notes for long periods of time is killer, Songs like Possum Kingdom and Broken are so much better with this pedal. Also, soloing, i play alot of alice in chains and really helps with solos and bridges. Nothing like some way WAH and Freeze :)

No complaints! I want more options to make this over the top. These include:
- more sound variability options (modify wave fluctuation or wave types)
- control over how the sound stops. when you stop it, it is abrupt. Would be nice to have option to fade out over specified amount of time, like fade out over 1 - 10 seconds. this will allow you to play over it as it fades out over time and not just abruptly stop. the stop is so abrupt, not usable in certain situations
- option to switch into amp feedback sound
Music background: Performance focused, play open mics, small shows, in band

Freeze Pedal Does the Trick

I purchased Freeze Pedals for 2 bassists whom I love, and they were not mad about it. A perfect way to add a pad element without a new keyboard player! Paired with their other effects, this will totally change up their arsenal of sound. And give them some inspiration along the way. Can't wait to hear what they come up with.

Exactly what you want it to do

Im using this with bass and guitar to set up drones to practice with. It does exactly what you want it to do.
I didnt think the different drone styles would be of any use to me but I am happy for the options, as Im using them more than I thought. Great product for the money!

Really fun pedal once you know how to use it practically

This pedal is the best in the business at what it does in my opinion, but needs some getting used to or it will feel like a one trick pony. Learn how to dial in the level and learn what dynamics work with the pedal and what is "too loud". To clarify, what I'm saying is that if you strum too hard/loud sometimes it latches on to a note that rings way too loud and it will be invasive to the mix. Learn to tame this beast with your playing and you can do really cool things with freezing chords and picking melodic notes over it.

Great pedal

I do a solo acoustic thingy and this thing is so awesome! Anyone who plays covers and sings solo knows that there is a lot of space to fill sonically. This pedal allows me to relax a little more and not have to be constantly filling space. I am going to buy another one to have as a spare because I will be stepping on it a lot. Simple, cheap, you really can't lose on this one especially with an acoustic guitar
Music background: Solo acoustic performer over 40 yrs experience.
