Because the drives are constantly being monitored, you have a better chance of backing up data in the event of a drive failure.

Glyph even lets you add yet another layer of protection to your system! ForteRAID accommodates a "hot spare" inside its chassis, so you can perform rebuilds instantly if you need to. And, Glyph offers the best warranty out there: three years of full protection plus one year free advance replacement on removable drives. NOTE: At present, Pro Tools does not support record or playback on volumes 2TB or larger. If using Pro Tools, choose a ForteRAID capacity and RAID mode that yields a volume 2TB or smaller. The following models are smaller than 2TB and are compatible: 1TB and 2TB (any drive mode); 3TB and 4TB (RAID 1, RAID 3 + hot spare, RAID 5 + hot spare, RAID 10). The 6TB and 8TB are not recommended for Pro Tools, unless used as backup only.
