Connects all your gear with 18 inputs and 14 outputs
The FireWire 1814 gives you the connections you need to connect mics, instruments and digital audio sources to your computer. The "18" in FireWire 1814 stands for 18 total inputs. With 8 analog inputs - including 2 mic/instrument inputs on the front panel with phantom power, a -20dB pad and signal indicators - it's easy to set up for vocals, guitar or bass plus keyboards for recording. Plus, 8-channel ADAT I/O makes the FireWire 1814 compatible with a whole range of compatible audio gear. But there's more! Coaxial S/PDIF I/O accepts stereo inputs from any compatible instrument, CD player or other audio device. The FireWire 1814's 4 analog outputs can handle 24-bit/192kHz material for playback of high-definition recording. And the S/PDIF outputs can transfer ACS-3 or DTS encoded surround tracks.
Flexible routing and near-zero latency monitoring
Other features of the FireWire 18/14 include flexible internal mixing with an assignable rotary encoder and software-controlled mixing of hardware and software I/O. Use the FireWire 1814's hardware direct monitoring capability for near-zero latency monitoring. Or go with the low-latency ASIO drivers for software-based monitoring. Either way you get optimum performance!
Great for live use, too!
A front-panel momentary switch for DJ-style headphone auditioning between two assignable sources makes the FireWire 18/14 ideal for live use. A built-in 1 x 1 MIDI interface allows connection of a MIDI synth or other device plus control of the FireWire 1814 via an external device. A bonus is the two stereo headphone outputs on the front panel. With FireWire bus power or the included DC adapter it's easy to use this box with or without a computer. The FireWire 1814 is an outstanding value in a quality studio or onstage interface!
