32 channels of lightpipe and FireWire! PreSonus expands the FireStudio line with the FireStudio Lightpipe, a 24-bit/96kHz lightpipe interface that bridges between lightpipe-equipped multi-channel preamps and your computer via FireWire. This allows you to mix and match any of your favorite preamps with lightpipe and have them easily transfer to your computer and into your DAW. The FireStudio Lightpipe also serves as a great way to interface other digital devices such as digital mixers, AD/DA converters, or ADAT recorders with your computer. The FireStudio Lightpipe is a multi-purpose tool for any studio! PreSonus FireStudio Lightpipe at a Glance:
Up to 32 channels of audio The FireStudio Lightpipe is capable of handling up to 32 channels of audio coming in on lightpipe at resolutions of up to 48kHz. This audio is passed on through to the computer via FireWire and into a supported DAW. For higher resolution audio, the FireStudio Lightpipe can operate on the Dual SMUX protocol, providing up to 16 channels of audio at 96kHz. Multi-purpose With the wealth of lightpipe-equipped preamps out there, the FireStudio Lightpipe serves as a logical choice to bridge between your preamps and your computer. The FireStudio Lightpipe also works well with digital mixers, ADAT machines, and A/D and D/A convertors, further expanding the functionality of this unit. FireStudio Lightpipe features JetPLL jitter elimination technology for ultra tight synchronization and improved imaging and clarity along with a 34x4 DSP matrix mixer allowing you to create dual zero-latency monitor mixes. Fast-acting input/output LED meters are located on the front panel for quick and easy visual monitoring of all signals. Compatibility The FireStudio Lightpipe is compatible with both Macs and PCs, including Windows XP and Vista, as well as Mac OS X. FireStudio Lightpipe is supported by most of the most popular DAWs, including Cubase, Logic, Nuendo, SONAR, and many others, so no matter what your recording situation, you can most likely find a use for the FireStudio Lightpipe in your studio.
