From Our Research Team:

Set Your Harmonica on Fire!

The FireBall is a dynamic microphone specifically designed for the professional harmonica player and it is well-suited for both chromatic and diatonic harmonicas. With its sleek styling and unique design, the FireBall is CNC machined at the Audix factor in Wilsonville, Oregon out of a solid bar of aircraf grade aluminum. The final look is achieved with a elaborate three stage anodizing process, givin every microphone its own distinctive look Featuring a dent resistant grill ball with a deep re internal pop filter, each FireBall is attractively laser etched with its name and serial number.

While the contour the FireBall is designed to fit comfortably within the palm of the hand, there is a full-sized dynamic capsule within to provide big, full-bodied sound. Featuring VLM (Very Low Mass) capsule technology developed by Audix during the early 1990's, the FireBall is very clean and accurate, resistant to feedback, and capable of handling sound pressure levels in excess of 140 dB without distortion.

Even more astonishing is the ability of the FireBall to maintain its high quality sound reproduction even while the artist is cupping the grill ball. While this type of cupping action is necessary for style and effect, it can often cause the microphone to "boom out" or become muddy and distorted. Not so with th FireBall - it will operate as if it's in an open air environment, even under the most demanding conditions

The FireBall is characterized with a smooth and uniform frequency response of 50 Hz - 16 kHz and and a cardioid polar pattern, allowing it to focus on the particular instrument that is being miked without picking up other instruments or ambient noise on stage.

This mic rocks for beat-boxing. I own a Shure Beta 58 and I've had the chance of using this mic a few times for beat-boxing and it is far superior. I've never been too happy with the bass on the Beta ... read more [+]58 and this mic has a better bass reflex and it can also handle more DBs which is idea for this purpose. Of coarse, it is best to have both so you can rock some flows with the Beta 58, which is better for live performance vocals then a more expensive studio condenser. close [-]

this mic is all about the clean sound....not like the ripping blues distortion types at all,...but can get there with the overdrive up on the amp anyway ....this is great for clear / clean precise har... read more [+]monica...definitly the best mic for holding in your hands....other uses are fine also,in a pinch. the only caution I can give is to let it air out a few days when you first get it , the anodizing was kinda still letting off some fumes??? since then, all been great! close [-]
