Enter notes the way you want — mouse, MIDI, microphone, or scanner
With Makemusic Finale 2010, you've got the power to enter in notes the way that you choose. If you're working from a basic keyboard/mouse setup, you can easily enter them in by clicking. Finale 2010 also supports note entry from a MIDI keyboard — or any other MIDI device. Just play the notes on the keyboard and watch your music appear onscreen. You can even just set the tempo, play your song, and watch as Finale 2010 puts it all into notation in real-time. If you're writing brass or woodwind parts, you can use Finale's exclusive MicNotator features to play notes right into Finale. You can also import your existing MIDI, MusicXML, SmartScore, or Finale family notation files. Last, but not least, you can scan in your existing sheet music or handwritten scores — a big time-saver.

Includes a host of amazing-sounding classic and modern instrument sounds
A range of sounds come with Finale 2010, so you can compose your pieces — then hear them played back by the instruments you intended. To start, you get more than 350 world-class instrument sounds from the Garritan Personal Orchestra, spanning piano, choirs, drums, guitar, organ, handbells, marching percussion, and more. Brand-new to Finale 2010 are a variety of church organ sounds, electric guitar, more handbells, steel guitar, and a brush drum kit. On top of all of those sounds, you also get more than 100 sounds from Tapspace Virtual Drumline, and additional Row-Loff Marching Percussion Sounds. You can use the included Garritan Aria Player to take charge of your sounds.

Record supporting audio tracks right into Finale
Give arrangements authenticity and life with a real vocal or instrumental track. Record or import a mono or stereo audio file to enhance playback and open up a world of possibilities. For example, with Finale 2010, you can record a vocal track to a soprano aria, add trumpet solo to a jazz chart, import a stereo mix of a rock band and build a horn arrangement, import audio for transcription/takedown, create learning files for choir students with accompaniment and sung text, and more. With Finale 2010, you can even import an audio recording of music, use the TempoTap feature to line up notation barlines and times, then add additional orchestration.
