You can deploy the Pigtronix FAT Philosopher's two effects individually or together to produce everything from studio-grade parallel compression juiced with amp-like overdrive, to modern liquid high-gain lead tones that sustain for weeks. Imagine being able to conjure all this, independent of your volume! Want to further augment your tone? The FAT Philosopher also offers an effects loop, so the sky's really the limit, in terms of where you can take your guitar sound.

Inside the Pigtronix FAT Philosopher is a modified Philosopher's Rock with an added parallel blend control, for premium-quality compression, sustain, and distortion, with an option for parallel compression. Flick the little chrome "Grit" switch and you get an additional smorgasbord of yummy overdrive. Unless you're amp is of a particularly high-gain design, you know you need a little help to send your tone over the top. The Philosopher's Rock circuitry in the FAT Philosopher is just what you need.

When it comes to tone, Pigtronix FAT Drive circuitry leaves typical overdrive pedals in the dust! It uses a series of cascading gain stages to create a smooth, natural-sounding overdrive that covers tones ranging from dynamic breakup to rich, dripping saturation. The "More" switch reconfigures the gein structure to significantly increase the amount of analog drive at your fingertips. And the best part is that the FAT Drive won't alter your playing dynamics or lose the vital character of your axe.
