128 Voice Polyphony which is more than enough for Sequencing mutli tracks in logic for example.
So great, Berklee college of music, has over 50 of theses sound modules in their own synthesis labs!!
It has endless expansions slots!!! Just a great product, a must have for a Digital Studio thanks to USB port.

Roland, can I get an endorsement?????

I must say that i just purchased the XR and traded my Motif Es for an Apple with a load of plug-ins. After checking out the sounds and features of the XR, it will be a great compliment to the other equipment in my studio. Im not into bashing other companies, but each brand (Roland, Korg,etc) might fit a certain genres better than another. But I would suggest to the buyer, take a moment and go through some of the sound banks on the XR and you will agree that Roland gives you enough variety PLUS the exspansion cards....not including the sampling capability...just listen to the demo's.... 9 out of 10!

Everithing what needed in sounds!

This is a special unit, all types of sounds are excelents: bass, drums, pianos, paths, orchestra, dance, etc...
There are more special features for me, for example its 6 possible expansions boards, sampling capability, usb connection and an excelent computer software for sound editing. I recomment this unit, I listen many examples of others brands, but Roland have very good examples in realistic sounds.
