It features great new piano sounds and new arpeggio flexibility, in addition to other benefits. Fantom-G Operating System 1.31 Features:
Advanced sound engine Driven by a powerful new audio processor, the Fantom-G provides new sonic depth and versatility. With twice the wave-ROM capacity of its predecessor, it contains a treasure trove of Roland's world-famous SRX-quality sounds, but what really sets this instrument apart is its new ARX expansion, which allows additional SuperNATURAL sound-sets and fully dedicated synth and effects engines to be added to this already powerful live workstation. I really like my fantom g a whole lot! I was hoping that some keyboard manufacturer would develop a keyboard workstation that had both multi-track audio and midi sequencing capabilities. And, then Rol... read more [+]and did it! I got a taste of this with my fantom x8 expanded with the 16 track sequencing and 8 track audio. Now, I can record 24 tracks of audio and 104 track of midi. I also, wanted a keyboard workstation that had XLR mic inputs with phantom power. Then Roland did it again. Now I can recording a song using instrument patches and then plug in my studio condenser and add lead and backing vocals. On top of that I can mix it down to a stereo file with mastering FX's. Roland has develop the ultimate keyboard musician tool and topped it off with a luxurious 8.5 in screen. No other company offer these key features not Korg, Yamaha, or Kurweil. Korg tried with the Oasys, but failed because of the hefty price tag that they placed on their product. If, you looking for a keyboard that has DAW capabilities of 24 track audio/ 104 midi go Roland because it give you the ability to use it as a standalone workstation or as a integrate plug-in and control it features right within your 3rd Party DAW's (Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, and Sonar, etc.) I thank God for my fantom G!!! close [-]

Being disabled,I don't get out much. Enter Sweetwater! Ed Needler has been not just a salesman, but a friend, listening to my ramblings of life as a struggling musician. His knowledge of products and ... read more [+]how they relate to my needs/wants/desires has been nothing short of a Godsend. March 29, 2010 Music Background: Musician, Home Studio Hobbyist Enter The Roland G6. What an amazing combination of technology and musicality (is that a word?). This workstation feels so organic, as pure as a strum of my guitar, yet as deep as my imagination wants to take me. The sounds are rich, imaginative and tweakable. If you can dream it, I think the G6 can create it. My hands are frail, yet Roland has made Magic (there is actually a Magic knob on this synth). A big thanks to Ed and the folks at Sweetwater. You've made a dream come true. close [-] Fantom-G6

The fantom g6 is the ultimate machine. It makes recording so much easier than before, but the usage of the 128 track sequencer is easier and harder in the same hand. The fantom x (which I own) had an u... read more [+]ndo feature which came really handy when making editing functions, but the G series for some reason doesnt. The functionality and sheer recordability of the G however is impressive. Record a loop you like copy a couple of times, record another loop and the musicality blows away in no time.November 16, 2008 Music Background: Live musician, Band director The sounds are great. Piano are by far the best. I don't know how anyone can say that the piano are horrible. The only other thing I don't like about it is the limited drum loops that are available. The whole setup of the keyboard however is great. Being able to switch patches without cutting out is awesome and the sheer amount of processing it has to simultaneously do up to 22 effects is amazing compared to the fantom X. The screen in absolutely beautiful. I would recommend this keyboard to anyone! close [-] The future is here

Finally, the keyboard workstation joins us in the 21st century. I hereby predict the Roland Fantom G will enjoy the top spot in keyboard sales for the next couple of years. Why? Here are the main reas... read more [+]ons:May 7, 2008 Music Background: GURU -The screen is the best in the business. Gorgeous. Love it. No video redraw issues like the XS. -DAW like sequencer. Plug in a USB mouse and you have computer-like sequencing at your fingertips. Highly robust, reliable, accurate sequencer with 128 MIDI track capability. Unheard of. No button pressing delays like the XS -Buffet of extraordinary preset patches that are mix ready and can be seamlessly overdubbed together right out of the box. Roland sets up presets ready for your mixes. Drum kits are banging, EQ'd just right. Pianos, organs, rhodes, wurlies, bass (acoustic and synth), leads, pads, brass, etc etc are all AWESOME. Can not wait for new Keyboard expansion card. Incredible. -No glitch LIVE mode that guarantees no delays between switching performances live in concert. Finally a company listened to us. LOVE IT. Thank you Roland. Live mode is SO cool -Screensaver (16 to choose from!) and customizable wallpaper. You gotta love this. You can can actually customize your keyboard. Love it. -Killer controllers like industry leading knob for pitch bend/data/assignable, dbeam, etc. -PAD MANIA. Oh yes, a whole set of beautiful rubber pads that can be used as numeric keypad, part selection, sample pads, mutes, drum pattern triggers, you name it. Works how YOU want to work. What a concept. Thank you Roland. (PS Roland: please make the pads more sensitive to retrigger) -AWESOME effects. Man I love all the insane effects. Also 2 LFO's with al kinds of awesome options. -Best looking board in existence by far. Puts the weird hospital-surgeon-green-colored Motif XS to shame. Yamaha is going to eat Roland's lunch for at least the next two years until Yamaha can put out the board they SHOULD have put out after the ES. Yamaha screwed their loyal clients and now they're going to pay for it. The Fantom is by far and away the best board for the money bar none. I absolutely LOVE my G6 and I can't keep my hands off of it. THANK YOU ROLAND close [-] Sweetwater Advice
