Davefrom Pocono Mountains, PA. USA January 5, 2013Music Background: recording engineer, live sound, multi-instrumentalist Great inexpensive setI have the older Fusion set. I really like the sound of these Mic's. They all work extremely well and have a nice balanced. sound. I especially like the Tom mics, they deliver the goods-they repro exactly what your ears hear, and the isolation is incredible! Case in point- a few years back, the bass player in my band was whining about having to put gates on the tom micsbecause, he reasoned, they would be bleeding all over and ruin the recording. I kept telling him it wasn't necessary. It started to get heated, so we went into my studio and I played a track and soloed the tom mics (all 5 of them)- you could barely hear anything. When the Tom's came in they were loud and clear. This was tracking the whole band live too. Needless to say, that was the last time he ever mentioned that. All of the mics sound great; I am happy with the kick Mic too. Very accurate. I highly recommend this set, especially for the price. You just can't go wrong. Use good pre's and they are a steal. Very clear, take stick hits like a champ, tough, well built and great sound. Audix has a winner at this price point. I also use an I5 and it is also a great Mic. Get these if you want great drum sounds on a budget. |
