Sweetwater Advice

Randy Akins
This is, hands-down, the coolest delay pedal out there for this ridiculously low price. The ability to mix and match tape, analog, and digital delays with different delay modulations and tap tempos is completely unique for a delay pedal (why didn't someone think of this sooner??). Of course, this would mean nothing if the pedal didn't sound good, but it does... rich, warm, smooth, and satisfying! Other delay modelers get "close"... U2, Pink Floyd, Andy Summers - it's all in here without spending $5000 on a rack full of delays!

This pedal is really a great value for the money. To begin with the delays sound excellent. The features and options are really mindblowing at this price range. Having digital, analog and tape to choose from really expands your options. You'll notice that the sound and control knobs react very differently in these three different modes. The trails on/off switch is really useful, allowing you to decide whether pressing the button will kill the delays instantly, or continue until they fade away. The many varieties of delay will keep you tinkering with this pedal for a long time. Many of the types are purely musical timing, but a few others have really unique options. The ducking is great for avoiding muddy tone in songs with fast, percussive riffs and varying tempos. The swell and reverse make for extremely "ear-turning" effects that are sure to mesmerize. My favorite mode is definitely sweep, which adds layers of depth to my music.

But my favorite thing about this pedal is tweaking the knobs in real time. Keep the mix knob high and a healthy number of repeats and then tweak the time knob. A slow tweak will zone your sound way out, and a fast one will send it well into outer space. I know this is not unique to this pedal, but rarely is it emphasized in a review how impactful of a sound can be created this way.

Our Customers Say...

When it came time to start from scratch with the studio, I had a lot of questions. The Sales Engineers I've worked with are really friendly and patient, and the guidance they provided was invaluable; they basically helped build the studio.
