TL Audio Ebony Series A2 Tube Dual Channel Strip at a Glance:
  • A beautiful blend of modern and classic
  • Flexible EQ and compression sections
  • Dial in tube character when you want it
  • Intuitive panel controls
  • Classic sound made to fit the demands of modern studios

A beautiful blend of modern and classic
Each of the signal processors in TL Audio's Class A Ebony series give you classic looks and great sonic results — from clear and clean to vintage-tinged and warm. These units are also perfect for today's uncompromising digital studio environments, thanks to their low-noise operation, low distortion, and a wide frequency response.

Flexible EQ and compression sections
You get flexible and very effective EQ and compression controls onboard the A2. If you want pure preamp character only, you can bypass the EQ and compressor sections — or keep one or the other in the signal path. You can place the compressor section pre- or post-EQ, or put the EQ into the compressor's sidechain for frequency-specific compression.

Dial in tube character when you want it
The Ebony Series A2 gives you clean, transparent performance when you need it, or you can dial in this unit's Tube Warmth control to put this dual preamp's onboard ECC83 tube to work. If you want to add some tube "color" to a vocal or an instrument, this selectable feature lets you choose exactly how much you want.

Intuitive panel controls
The 2U Ebony Series A2's front panel includes a phase reverse switch, large input gain, output gain, and Tube Warmth knobs, which complement the A2's classy black panel and single VU meter. The EQ and compressor sections also feature these knobs, which make it easy to perform fast yet accurate adjustments.

Classic sound made to fit the demands of modern studios
TL Audio puts a wealth of experience and a commitment to quality behind the Ebony Series A2. Founder Tony Larking began by restoring vintage recording consoles, and TL Audio's first offerings included original Neve EQ modules that were repackaged for recording studio use. By the early 1990s, TL Audio recognized that the demand for tube-equipped outboard gear far exceeded the supply of vintage Pultec and Fairchild gear, so the company went to work and produced its first tube gear — the EQ-1. The EQ-1 appealed to modern studio owners thanks to its combination of tube warmth and ultra-quiet operation. You'll find that same blend of classic character and modern performance in the A2 and all of TL Audio's gear; from preamp modules to full consoles, TL Audio builds quality into everything they make.
