From Our Research Team:Get Long-lasting Tone from These Acoustic Strings!Behind every set of D'Addario strings are over three centuries of fine craftsmanship. The D'Addario family tradition began in the tiny town of Salle, Italy in 1680 where they made assorted instrument strings for over two hundred years before relocating to New York in 1905. As the modern string making industry began to develop, the D'Addario family emerged as innovators by designing the winding machine most string makers still use today. And while their techniques have modernized, the pride that goes into each set of strings dates back to the D'Addario family's earliest roots. An ultra-fine layer of EXP Coating is bonded to the 80/20 bronze wrap wire which is then wound onto the hex-shaped core wire. The result is a built-in barrier against the corrosion and wear that can quickly sap the life out of your strings and your sound. EXP coated 80/20 bronze strings have a natural round wound feel and sound fresh and bright with a "new string tone" that lasts three to four times longer than traditional guitar strings. May 31, 2012 Music Background: Church Musician Coated? With rust already.

I was looking to try other string brands other than Elixir, and had several recommendations for D'Addario's. So when the set of Elixir's I had, worn down, I bought these expecting to be at least as g... read more [+]ood as Elixir's. Slapped them on, they sounded great if not better than Elixir's, and ten times better than any Martin string. I play a lot, hours everyday, this may have been the problem because these strings already were rusty by day 2, when Elixir's would not be. If you didn't play as much and wanted to save a couple dollars than paying for Elixir's these would do fine. close [-]
