The Expedition Express is a great system for those smaller parties that don't need a larger more expensive setup.I bought two of them with the optional batteries to use for rentals and they've been greatly received. Perfect for the rental market for customers that are on a budget but still want a sound system that sounds very good. I tried a few other systems that had smaller speakers and have found that the Expedition Express with 12" speakers makes all difference in the world. Bass is tight and punchy and the highs are crystal clear. The built in Ipod dock is very convenient, but if you mount the speakers on stands then your Ipod may be out of reach.For most instances you could skip the stands since the Expedition's speakers can be used in the kicked back position or you could use the RCA auxillary inputs instead. The Expedition Express has plenty of volume for indoor use, but outdoors it's better suited for a crowd of 25-75 people. The rechargeable battery pack is a great option for those wedding ceremonies on the beach or anywhere else power isn't available. The battery pack is a bit of a pain to install and remove and adds alot of weight when installed on the main unit.You could leave it installed but then you have the extra weight to contend with. I would love to see battery packs done like most rechargable tools. Being able to charge the battery up on an external charger and then being able to just pop it in the unit would be awesome, but they probably can't get enough reserve power to allow this to be done (yet). The included microphone sounds decent, but is better left on a stand since the handling noise is quite bad.I wasn't expecting a top quality microphone on a system in this price range anyway. All in all the system works very well and they should be top sellers.
