Super Value and Performance

I'll make this a short sentence - I love these systems.
Rugged, long battery life, extremely low handling noise, and the sound is tremendous. I've owned and used wireless rigs from Shure and other top brands, but the warmth and presence of these is superior to me. Just came off a 3-week UK tour, and one of the other folks carried his $2000 Shure rig. When people from the tour (including his wife) kept telling him that my Sennheiser EW135 had a better sound than his Shure rig. Only one real negative with these systems, and that's the hassle of rack-mounting them. It costs a fair piece to add the wings, antenna extension cords, etc., and the instructions for installation were as poor as the task was hard. But once they're secured, they work and travel fine. I also own the headset and guitar rigs, and they're as fine as this handheld one. For $550, best of luck in beating them out.

We use these in vocal situation, and so far, they seem to be doing the job. Much better than the Behringer wireless mics we were useing at 1/3 the cost of the Sennheiser. Stainless steel, and 8 hour battery life on 2AA. Reccomended not to use rechargables, because most are only 1.2 volts and these require 1.5 volts. That was the advice of the sound engineer I consulted.

Sound seems very good, warm and full. Very little popping, even when high sound pressure or close proximity to source. Even even when different singers or speakers use these, the gain or fader adjustments need only be slight, unlike the Behringers, which easily were pushed into feedback.

Only gripe is that they are a little pricey. have not had any experience with any other higher end brands. Would welcome comments for the Shure.
