From Our Research Team:A Limited-edition Reissue of a Legendary Semi-hollow Electric! In the late '50s, Gibson began experimenting with new and revolutionary guitar designs, introducing such classics as the Flying V, the Explorer, and the ES-335. While the Flying V and the Explorer were (to put it mildly) ahead of their time, the ES-335 became an instant legend among blues, rock, jazz, and country players. In 1960, the original ES-335 went through a major change to meet the demands of the serious musicians who had adopted it, and the ES-335TD was born. The new ES-335TD, with its slimmer, faster neck profile and "insert" or "reflector" tone and volume knobs, was just what guitarists had asked for. Now, for the ES-335TD's golden anniversary, the Gibson Custom Shop brought back this legendary semi-hollow guitar for a limited encore performance. The Gibson Custom Shop 50th Anniversary 1960 ES-335TD is the closest you can come to obtaining the look, feel, and tone of an original dot-neck 1960 ES-335TD. What's more, the 50th Anniversary 1960 ES-335TD features all of the design elements that many guitar experts call the optimal form of this classic, including period-correct hardware such as "insert" volume and tone knobs, double-band tuners, and a pair of accurate PAF-style '57 Classic humbucking pickups. Even its aged finish represents the original look of this incredible guitar. Now you have the chance of a lifetime to own a magnificent piece of American guitar history.
