The Gibson Memphis ES-195 was clearly designed for a new generation of serious guitarists. For instance, its thinline semi-hollow body style gives you the full-bodied tone and sustain you'd expect from a hollowbody jazz box, but without the constant feedback problems that plague deeper guitars. On top of that, there's the ES-195's straight six Firebird headstock and deep cutaway, both of which contribute to both its style and overall playability.

When it comes to tone, the ES-195 takes you right back to the heyday of Gibson semi-hollowbody electric guitars. A pair of P-94 single-coil pickups give you the same expressively dynamic P-90 sound that you'd expect from a traditional set of dog ears, but balanced to provide even volume between the neck and bridge pickups. Whats, more, the ES-195's bridge pickup is wound with reverse polarity, making them naturally hum canceling when both pickups are on.

To complete the picture, Gibson Memphis outfitted the ES-195 with a complete set of classy yet extremely functional hardware. First and foremost, there's the trapeze-style Bigsby vibrato, which is idea for pulling off long, slow and subtle bends. On top of that, there's a classic ABR-1 bridge and a set of Grover Mini tuners, assuring that your ES-195's tuning stays perfectly stable.
