From Our Research Team:The Tone And The Look That InspiresGibson invented the semi-hollowbody electric guitar in 1958, offering players the perfect combination of traditional archtop looks and powerful solidbody performance. The original ES-335 was soon joined by the ES-345, with additional ornamentation and features. Today's ES-335 and ES-345 continue to provide the tone and the look that inspires musicians in blues, rock and jazz. And who could be more inspiring to guitarists than BB King, whose legendary Lucille is based on the ES-345. (Lucille is an ES 355. Think of her as an ES 345 with an evening dress.)Gibson ES345 at a Glance:

Cecil, Mesquite, TX Reviewsbased on 1 reviewPoor Finish Quality
by Robert Hall from Missouri
Beware if you are expecting attention to detail on this instrument. It just doesn't have the finish quality that one would expect from a $4000 instrument. I have two PRS guitars, one Melancon, and on... read more [+]e Taylor and the Gibson doesn't come close in terms of finish quality. For example the rosewood neck has significant scaring from the fretwork. The finish is loaded with scratches from a poor buffing job. The inlay on the fifth fret doesn't fit flush on fretboard. The buffing compound used during the manufacturing process was all over the pickups, binding and body of the guitar. I chose to keep the guitar for it's playability and sound, but don't even bother if you are particular about how your instrument looks. It's a disappointment to say the least. My salesman at Sweetwater pulled several additional 345s from inventory to inspect and all had similar issues. close [-]
