Customer Reviewsfrom Port Washington, WI February 19, 2012 Music Background: Hobbyist/former band mate This is the one!Three years ago I played the Custom version of this guitar. The second I grabbed it I felt the guitar became part of me (yes, I am a child of the 60s). It played like magic and felt incredible. I have wanted one of these ever since. The price of the Custom was more than I wanted to spend. I really don't care about the Varitone and I have the Custom's PUPS on another Gibson. So I ordered the Classic in the Blues Burst (as others have said, GET the Blue one!). It is solidly built and plays like the Custom. While $2K is a lot of money, in the realm of high end guitars, this is a bargain and looks phenominal. The tone is smooth overall, but can rock with the best of them. Kudos to Gibson! I love this guitar. Andy Miller rocks!from Virginia April 2, 2011 Music Background: Recording Musician and Independant Artist Died and gone to heavenWhat a sensational guitar. I took it out of the case, tuned it up and plugged it in. Sweet tones, this guitar does not need alot of effects or processing to sound good. Now I know how the pros are getting those creamy Jazz tones. The Gibson case is sturdy and substantial. It has that new case smell - sort of like Mocha or Chocolate. I have not yet gotten the professional set-up, but, I will argue that Sweetwater did a pretty good job prior to shipping. I will have a hard time parting with it long enough to get that done. Only thing I can criticize was that the pickup switch was a little freaky for a moment. The Rythm pickup would not play one time when selected. I toggled the switch back and forth a couple of times and it resolved itself. I have experienced this on almost every guitar I have ever owned so I don't really want to make much out of that - but it did happen once. from mississauga, ontario February 19, 2011 Music Background: hobbyist fantastic axegreat guitar, tone and ease of play is incrediable, finish to die for, make sure u get it professionally set up it will make a hugh difference in the way it plays. once that's out of the way look out, great for blues and old time rock, worth every penny u pay for it . for sure a keeper.
