I bought my Etymotic ER-4p with converter cable to -4S about 18 months ago. In the first few weeks I had trouble accepting the earplugs into my ears. Before this, I used Grado Labs SR-60 with HeadRoom's Little Version Headphone Amplifier for many years and before that I used Stax Electrostatic Ear Speaker SR-X. Now those headphones are left in the storage bin. Needless to say that I'm happy with this true, clean,clear sound from ER-4P/-4R earphones especially when its used along with the afore-mentioned Headphone Amplifier. That seems to sweeten out the harsh tone from digital recording. The price is high but the reward is worth it. close [-]
