For 1/4 or even less than an equivilant Gibson you just CAN NOT go wrong here. I picked up the blue and I could not believe the quality of the build. Grover tuners, about a 8-9 lb weight, amazing top, straight neck, low action, no buzzing, and the pickups are screamers! I did not find one single issue with this guitar! I also own a Les Paul Studio from Gibson and THAT one has some flaws in the finish!

The Les Pauls Epiphoone have been putting out lately are spectacular. I played a few at a local shop last night and all were beautiful and played/sounded great.

Honestly, comparing my Gibson Les Paul studio to my Epiphone Les Paul Standard I prefer my Epiphone every time. Its heavier, looks nicer and has a bit of a creamier tone. For this money you can not be disappointed. A couple years ago the Epiphones I played were not so hot, but the ones they are putting out now get an A+ from me!
