ReviewsExcellent Guitar
by Terry Hoffman from Kansas
I have owned this guitar for about 2 yrs. and, all I can say is that it is one fine instrument. The finish is beautiful, and the workmanship is to be commended, sound and playability is everything tha... read more [+]t you could ask for.May 29, 2011 Music Background: Active musician I own several Fender instruments and, I love them dearly but, when I got my hands on this guitar and, heard the sounds of the humbucker pickups I was extremely pleased with the difference compared to the single coils. I will still play my Fenders and,I will never part with them but, I certainly have found a new second love. Thanks Epiphone for a Great instrument. The only thing that I did when I received this instrument was to restring it with Dadario 9-42's and set the action lower and, checked the intonation to make sure it was right on and, I have been gigin' perfectly ever since. The only thing I will mention is that mine came with the white pearl tulip tuners, I'm not sure if they are Grovers but, I have absolutely have NO tuning problems at all. If you are looking for a Les Paul this instrument is definately worth considering. close [-] AWESOME

For 1/4 or even less than an equivilant Gibson you just CAN NOT go wrong here. I picked up the blue and I could not believe the quality of the build. I also own a Les Paul Studio from Gibson and THAT one has some flaws in the finish! October 11, 2008 Music Background: Hobbyist The Les Pauls Epiphoone have been putting out lately are spectacular. I played a few at a local shop last night and all were beautiful and played/sounded great. Honestly, comparing my Gibson Les Paul studio to my Epiphone Les Paul Standard I prefer my Epiphone every time. Its heavier, looks nicer and has a bit of a creamier tone. For this money you can not be disappointed. A couple years ago the Epiphones I played were not so hot, but the ones they are putting out now get an A+ from me! close [-] A Great Investment

First off, pictures do no justice to the transparent blue finish. It easily stands out from the rest. As for playability, it still ranks high for the money. I personally see no purpose in buying a Gibson. If your willing to tweak a few bugs, it easily compares to guitars three times the price. close [-]
